Most abstractions exist to make things feel nice, not to make them fast or honest. Middleware, ORMs, frameworks — they hide cost and distort reality.
Remove them and you see the actual system: sockets, buffers, spans, syscalls, timing.
It's harsher. But it's true.
Every abstraction hides cost. Remove it, and reality becomes visible.
